Prices drift out of date slowly. Supplier costs rise, commission plans change, new services launch with guessed prices, and promotions linger. A short quarterly review keeps your menu honest. Block an hour and work through this checklist.
1. Update product costs
- Pull your latest invoices for injectables, fillers, peels, consumables and device tips.
- Update cost per unit, syringe or treatment, net of reliable rebates.
- Flag any service where product cost changed since the last review.
2. Update provider costs
- Have commission rates, hourly pay or bonus structures changed?
- Have treatment times changed with new protocols or providers?
3. Recalculate contribution margin
For every service, calculate net price minus product minus provider pay. Sort by contribution margin percentage and by contribution per room hour. Note the bottom five.
4. Check actual collected prices
Compare list price with the average price actually collected over the quarter. Large gaps mean discounts, member pricing or package allocation are pulling the effective price down.
5. Review active discounts
List every promotion, code and standing discount. For each, ask whether it still has a purpose and whether it brings new clients or mostly discounts existing ones.
6. Review packages and memberships
- Is each package still profitable at current costs?
- Do member prices still leave enough margin?
- Is the value of outstanding prepaid sessions growing faster than redemptions?
7. Look at the market
Check reputable competitors in your area. Not to copy them, but to understand where your prices sit and whether your positioning supports any difference.
8. Decide and schedule
For each flagged service, decide whether to raise the price, change the protocol, re-source the product or leave it. Set an effective date for any change, update the booking site, price list and POS on the same day, and give clients appropriate notice.
Keep a record
Save each quarter's review. Over a year, you will see exactly how costs and margins moved, which makes the next pricing decision much easier.
